ROLES/OVERVIEW:

Academic instruction.

Must have and maintain a valid state issued driver's license and successfully pass a National & Navajo Nation background check. Other licensing may be required depending on position and/or area of assignment. Use of college vehicle, which requires updated Defensive Driving certificate.

Dine College gives preference to eligible applicant in accordance with the Navajo Preference in Employment Act (NPEA) and the Navajo Nation Veteran's Preference. Navajo and Veterans Preference will not be given unless applicable documents are submitted with your application (example: DD-214 and Certificate of Indian Blood.)

  • Instruction and curriculum. Times, days, and sites for teaching courses vary and mode of delivery may also vary and could include use of distance education modalities. As multi-site college, faculty may be required to teach at satellite centers.

  • Assessment of courses and programs.

  • Academic advising and mentoring.

  • Service on committees

  • Service to college through leadership of student organizations, service learning, disappearing task forces, grant management, research, or specific academic endeavors, etc.

  • Additional duties as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: 

  • Oral fluency in Navajo is desirable but not mandatory.

  • Instruction and curriculum. Times, days, and sites for teaching courses ary and mode of delivery may also vary and could include use of distance education modalities. As a multi-site college, faculty may be required to teach at satellite centers. 

  • Assessment of courses and programs; academic advising and mentoring; serve on committees; service to college through leadership of student organizations, service learning, disappearing task forces; grant management; research or specific academic endeavors, etc.

  • A faculty is expected to have a high degree of proficiency in computer software used to support the administration of higher education. Software use includes but is not limited to general office applications such as WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK and Internet services. In addition a faculty is expected to utilize academic-specific programs for course delivery (face-to-face, synchronous, and asynchronous) and course maintenance (such as grade submission, posting syllabus, communication with students.)
